Assignment Capsule
The successful candidate will design automated document composition solutions under the direction of a lead Dialogue Designer. The individual will work closely with Product Managers and be receptive to feedback from them and Humana business units. The Designer will be engaged in planning, concept advancement, designing the solution, implementation, and will minimize lapses in prototype and design-building cycles. Programming competence is regarded as a fundamental skill for the position, and an emphasis will be placed on proactive initiative and a persistent can-do attitude. Successful communication products mature and implement best when design resources are competent, sensitive to the needs of the driving product owners and are willing to deliver what they really need quickly. Speed will be critical.


Key Competencies
· Be attuned and responsive to the direction of Strategic Communications as put forth by the Director, the Business Integration Manager and the Dialogue Design Lead.

· Build automated document composition solutions in Exstream Dialogue (document composition software) and be willing to take on increasingly complex tasks in putting together cohesive communication solutions.

· Be flexible and expectant of requirement changes throughout project cycles. Mold yourself and your work around your internal customers while simultaneously keeping their concepts about solutions on-track.

· Ideate and produce page layout prototypes in rapid fashion.

· Have an ability to incorporate solid graphic and information design in the construction of variable information communication products.

· Be willing to move increasingly towards a total capacity for building cohesive communications.

· Be respectful of Humana's objective of maintaining a unified voice across all consumer communications. Design and Publishing Standards are defined and will be adhered to as much as possible.

· Be willing to proofread work and do unit testing for others.

Role Essentials

· Bachelor's degree a technical area, or solid programming and/or visual or graphic arts experience

· Programming experience and strong understanding of data concepts

· Solid concept of page layout

· MS Windows and MS Office fundamentals

Role Desirables
· Experience with Exstream Dialogue or other Print Description Languages (PDL) is a plus

· Adobe InDesign CS2, Illustrator CS2, Photoshop CS2, Acrobat

· Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new technology

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Project Management Experience is a plus

Reporting Relationships
The Dialogue Designer will report to the Dialogue Design Lead but may be requested to work independently.
