You will be reporting directly to the chief creative + experience officer and will serve as a member of the leadership team. As such, you will be providing technical/functional strategic direction to clients. Digital strategy is increasingly dependent on technical expertise and experience, and our internal teams will look to you to form technology recommendations and ideas around brand and product strategies.
Skills/Qualifications
You are
responsible for all interactive development efforts including the management of solution architectures, data architectures, development and coding efforts, and quality assurance. You are responsible for consistently delivering technical excellence and efficiency on all projects. You manage a team of discipline-specific team leaders, developers, production artists, and are ultimately responsible for the on-time, on-budget delivery of all projects. You are responsible for all hiring, performance management, resource utilization, and managing technical aspects of client/project profitability.
Ultimate accountability for client satisfaction with, and the on-time and on-budget delivery of engineering client
services
Ensure scope, schedule and budget are accurate. Develop and sign-off on estimates and ensure high quality, profitable execution of deliverables
Translate the client's business requirements into systems design - recommend appropriate architecture based on client's business problem and drivers. Selection of platforms, technologies, tools, partners and architectures to meet clients' needs.
Supervise, direct and guide. Provide day-to-day leadership/support, budget, quality, risk and resource management
Challenge the team to develop innovative workflows and technologies to increase speed, reliability and quality of production while reducing cost where possible.
Ensure appropriate resource levels and mix of development competencies among staff. Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs.
A Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CIS, CS, HCI, IA, Technical Writing, Project Management, Business or related discipline required
7+ years required in the interactive industry or digital space; previous experience working for an interactive agency is preferred
5+ years experience managing a large multidisciplinary team to develop web-based applications and solutions that address the business/customer strategy and produce measurable results for the client
5+ years experience with SDLC methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.)
5+ years of information architecture, HCI, UI Design, or usability experience with a focus on the internet
Knowledge and experience in software documentation, technical documentation, data flow diagrams
Proven experience designing, implementing and managing small engagements to large-scale deployments with Fortune 500 clients, multi-million dollar accounts or equivalent experience
Demonstrated understanding of web application development best practices, including use case development, object-oriented analysis, design, and programming, UML, reusable design patterns, and multi-tier architectures, understanding of web technologies including:
HTML, CSS, DHTML, Javascript and XML
PHP, ASP.NET and JSP
MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server(TSQL), Oracle, and DB2
RIA technologies (Flex, Flash, AJAX)
Third-party systems integration and web services
Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
Knowledge of quality assurance process is required
Knowledge of Source Control
Strong
communication skills with the ability to present information in verbal, written or visual form to a variety of audiences, from the internal team to client executives
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Conversant with strategic ROI and metrics
A firm foundation in IA/Usability and emerging trends and technologies as well as social, search, email marketing, banner advertising, etc.
Experience with Mobile (web) development
Knowledgeable with Social Media Applications (Facebook, Twitter, Open Social, etc)
