This position reports directly to the Director of Medicare and Commercial Clinical Programs.

The Pharmacy Director contributes to the success of Humana's business strategy by formulating and executing the pharmacy strategy, driving for exceptional results, inspiring managers and associates.
If hired, you will be required to:

  • Manage all Pharmaceutical contracting for Commercial, Medicare and Specialty pharmaceuticals for Humana
  • Develop contracting strategies and work closely with the Clinical Strategy group to assist in P&T decisions
  • Develop contracting strategies around direct purchasing for generic drugs and specialty products at RightSource and RightSource Specialty
  • Interface with Humana's purchasing organization in the ongoing relationship with McKesson
  • Work closely with Actuarial organization in setting premium pricing for Medicare products based on formulary and contracting initiatives
  • Work closely with Finance on the administration of rebate, from collections to rebate projections on a regular basis

    Competencies Essential to this Role are:
  • Development/Management of programs that reach measurable qualitative and financial metrics
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong detail orientation skills
  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3-5 years experience in the manufacturer contracting environment
  • Strong in PC based Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Healthcare and/or pharmacy knowledge required
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and excel in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Demonstrated leadership in prior positions
  • Ability to meet multiple priorities under tight deadlines
    Additional competencies that are desired, but not required are:
  • PharmD preferred
  • Knowledge of Humana systems
