Assignment Capsule
As a Technology applications architect you will: develop a comprehensive understanding of Humana's organizational structure and business needs, translating those demands into system architecture and design specifications. You will examine existing technology, interface with internal customers and external vendors, and continually develop technical improvements.

• Partner with Humana's internal application teams to determine best design of application interfaces
  
• Translate system requirements into technical architectures and designs
  
• Review application team designs to ensure best design approaches for system interfaces
  
• Work with third-party vendor to communicate Humana technical requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , or equivalent experience
  
• Progressive experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
  
• Prior project architect and team lead experience
  
• 10 years experience with mainframe system design and coding involving CICS, MQ Series, DB2, VSAM, COBOL, 'C'.
  
• 5 years experience with performance tuning of mainframe DB2 applications, including advanced understanding of DB2 Detector, TMON, Compuware Strobe and other performance-related tools and techniques.
  
• 5 years experience with development of mainframe application standards, process development and other aspects of defining an application environment.
  
• Prior experience with code migration tools and processes.
  
• Solid skills with producing process and system documentation that is clear to understand and with a professional format.
  
• 3 years experience with producing technical training presentations and delivery of traininig to a technical audience.
  
• Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems and platforms in a client/server implementation architecture.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  

• Familiarity with Java
  
• Prior experience with support of third-party software including installation of release and patch updates.

• You will report to a Technology Manager. This area is under the leadership of the SVP & Chief Operating Officer.
