In the last 5 years, Humana has been a leader in innovating pharmacy benefit designs, connecting the health benefits world with the consumer experience, and driving information/education into the consumers hands. Humana has a fundamental belief that the consumer can navigate the healthcare system and that they will be a leader in giving people guidance to help them with their journey. In 2004, Humana filed and received 3 patent pendings for their work in pharmacy benefit design and web information tools, as well as publication of several papers and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals. Humana's customers include fully-insured and self-insured commercial business, individual health insurance, Medicaid, TRICARE, and Medicare. With the changing environment being led by CDHPs and the Medicare Modernization Act, Humana will continue its leadership role in the industry. We are looking for a couple high energy individuals to fill the roles of Clinical Advisor, Pharmacy Review. These roles will have important leadership opportunities within the company and how we manage the delivery of the pharmacy benefit. This role reports directly to the Manager, Clinical Pharmacy Review and have the following responsibilities: -Developing clinical pharmacy policy on pharmaceuticals -Developing and implementing pharmacy policy on step therapy, pay and educate strategies, prior authorization, and dispensing limits -Developing and implementing broader pharmacy policy -Providing clinical review support -Participating in pharmacy committees as appropriate The ideal candidate should have met the following education and training: -Pharmacist degree (PharmD preferred) -3 years clinical experience
