Assignment Capsule
As a Product Development Consultant you will:

• Query, analyze and validate claims data using PL/SQL, Access and Excel pivot tables to identify, isolate and measure the relevant drivers behind rational product design
  
• Manage projects and lead cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, assess comprehensive impacts, drive recommendation consensus, monitor implementation & impact metrics.
  
• Invest in the success of the team by using, building on and improving templates and methods to obtain, summarize and analyze financial, operational, competitive, strategic and regulatory information
  
• Review certificate language, make comparisons across competitor products and identify opportunities to optimize Humana products

• Product Development: Understanding of the product development life cycle, including product and market strategy, product infrastructure planning and management, product design and development, and planning and execution.
  
• Business Case Justification: Using appropriate analysis and metrics, develops a logical argument in support of business decisions, detailing their consequences over time, and justifying their rationale from a cost-benefit perspective; determines which criteria are relevant to the decision-making process; designs, develops and presents an effective business case.
  
• Customer Value Chain, Competitive Intelligence and the Humana Business Model: Understanding of the competitive environment, including Humana's marketplace, industry, competition and regulatory environment, as well as understanding of how the components of Humana's business model (i.e. strategy, finances, operations) interrelate to make Humana competitive in the marketplace. Understanding of Humana's business processes, systems, tools, regulations and structure and how they interrelate to provide products and services that create value for Humana customers, consumers and key stakeholders. Understanding of how the value we create for our customers, consumers and key stakeholders aligns with Humana's vision, business, culture, value proposition, brand promise and strategic imperatives.
  
• Problem Solving: You are a problem solver with the ability to encourage others in collaborative problem solving. Acting as both a broker and consultant regarding resources, you engage others in problem solving without taking over.

• Strong investigative & analytical skills
  
• Ability to manipulate query templates in PL/SQL, Sequel Server
  
• Ability to work and propose solutions independently
  
• Proficient in manipulating large quantities of data for analysis and reporting
  
• Ability to understand and compare benefit design & contract language

• SAS programming experience
  
• Familiarity with EDW claims & coverage tables, as well as claims adjudication logic
  
• Brings a team support mentality, eager to take on new challenges, and adaptable to rapid change
