Assignment Capsule
The project manager oversees the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle including project initiation (problem definition and scope management), project planning (activity definition and scheduling, resource planning, budgeting, and risk management), project execution (stakeholder management, team development and leadership, driving progress), project control (scope verification and change control, cost and quality, measurements and risk monitoring), and project close (issue resolution, lessons learned activities and final project documentation).
- Manage and direct corporate initiatives, including, but not limited to process improvement project management and SPIRIT.
- Lead teams in the execution and implementation of high-quality solutions that have measurable impacts to the business.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
- Work on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an evaluation of multiple factors to achieve best results.
- Prepare and present findings and proposals to senior management, with recommendations, including cost benefit analysis, risk mitigation, and action plans.
- Create detailed project design documents and task-level project plans to organize cross-functional teams.
- Partner closely with other members of project teams to define business requirements.

Role Essentials
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Process Engineering, IT, Finance or Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of project management or process improvement experience.
- Outstanding oral, written and organizational skills
- Excels in a team environment
- Ability to travel
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Lotus Notes, Visio and MS Project
Role Desirables
- MBA, CPA or advanced degree in healthcare
- Healthcare experience
- PMP certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt experience/certification
- Facilitation Skills
- AHIP - understanding health care
Reporting Relationships
This position in Humana's Market and Business Segment Operations Consulting Practice will report to a Director.
