Assignment Capsule
The ability to lead, inspire, and engage associates is critical to exceed consumer expectations and deliver on Humana's brand promise. The Supervising Pharmacist ensures quick resolution of escalated issues providing guidance to the Pharmacists delivering pharmacy services directly to consumers. The Supervising Pharmacist maintains high standards for quality and an exceptional consumer experience, actively coaching the team while creating a positive work environment.
Pharmacist will supervise up to 10 pharmacists and will work with the pharmacy consult and clinical process managers to steer team operationally and clinically.
Potential travel time-10-20%.
Will be responsible for reviewing pharmacist calls for quality and operational components.
Will work with Process Training manager with onboarding ang training of pharmacists.
Pharmacist will provide medication therapy management consultative services to identified health plan members. In addition, they will work with other internal and external healthcare providers in the coordination of care for the Humana member. The pharmacist will be responsible for conducting and completing the following:
1.a comprehensive medication review (CMR)
2.a personalized medication record (PMR)
3.a medication action plan (MAP)
4.Given a member case including one or more medications:
a.Identify member-specific data and issues and interpret these findings in order to assess the members medication-related needs
b.Apply the principles of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes when reviewing an elderly person's medication regimen
c.Generate a list of drug-related problems (DRP) for the member
d.Establish goals of therapy for each medical condition and for each drug therapy problem identified and prevented
e.List recommendations for alternative medications to potentially inappropriate medications
5.Document services in a manner appropriate for evaluating member progress and applicable to tracking of clinical and financial outcomes.
6.Communicate recommendations to other healthcare providers (both internally and externally) via written and telephonic means.
Role Essentials
- Current active pharmacist license in state residing or pharmacist licensure in process
- Ability to be licensed in multiple states without restrictions
- Previous supervisory experience
- Ability to effectively carry out existing initiatives and incorporate new ideas
- Ability to work independently under general instructions and with a team
- Ability to multitask and problem solve
- Ability to communicate clearly on the telephone and in writing
- Proficient in computers and accessing multiple applications at same time
- Knowledgeable in MS applications (Word, Excel, Access)
Role Desirables - PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree
- Residency experience
- Clinical certification (CGP, BCPS, etc)
- Managed-care experience (1-2 years)
- Bilingual
Reporting Relationships
Reports to pharmacy consult manager.
Additional Information - Work week is flexible, generally Monday through Friday (hours TBD).
